This is Billy Concarney saying howdy and glad to be back writing for the best whiffle ball league at PRCC on Monday nights!

So the housekeeping stuff…

1) We are guests at the PRCC. It is a family centred facility and as such lots of eyes and ears who don’t want to have to see any bare body parts or listen to cussing and such. So I need everyone to be mindful of this. So change in changing areas, save your swearing for you parents house and all will be ok!

2) We are loaded with talent this year. Probably the most since i played nets every game and sometimes both ends! 

What is the significance of this you ask? Well heightened skill means heightened intensity. Heightened intensity can often lead to some over zealous aka aggressive play. This isn’t the place for the latter. We want you to play hard, clean and with a spirit of kindness. We aren’t a win at my cost league, so please keep this in mind when you are around the walls digging for balls or the benches. It’s non contact although we know incidental stuff can happen. Our time keeper keeps a watch on things as do our refs. They all can and will call penalties. Please check out the rules section of the website and make yourself familiar. Fun, competitive and kind…like the Tim McGraw song….well part of it. 

3) Your captain will inform you as to what colour you need to wear. Home is Dark, preferably black. Away is white. Not grey, red, blue or green. If you are unsure bring one of each. 

4) New and not in the rule book….you take a run at a guy and hit him with intent…you go home…maybe for a while. You throw a punch…you go home…for 5 games or for good. League will decide this. The league has the right to decide outcomes whether laid out in the rules or not. This is to try and maintain the integrity of the league. You might get a warning, you may not. Things have been relatively calm the last few seasons and we want to keep it that way.

5) So, think about this…you have signed up to play in a whiffle ball league. It’s fast and we have a variety of skill levels. Have fun boyzz. That’s the most important thing. Don’t ruin it for yourself or others. Refs and Timekeepers are volunteers. Be respectful. Without them…no league.
