This is a short recap followed by a major announcement.

Game # 1 

Lynx vs Fire

This one was closer than the final score. The Lynx jumped out in front with 3 quick goals. The Fire grabbed two and after the 1st the Lynx had a 3-2 lead.

The Lynx opened the second period scoring adding to their lead, but the Fire did what the Fire does and they nabbed 4 goals to close out the period. This gave them a 6-4 lead heading into the 3rd.

The 3rd was close but the Fire out tallied the Lynx 3-2 and with that were given a 9-6 win. Honourable mention to Brendan Hanrahan who faced 53 shots.

Chill vs Sabres

The Sabres out scored the Chill in every period. 3-2 in the first, 5-2 in the second and 6-3 in the third. The final result was a 14-7 thumping that made Chill captain take early stock of his team. The trade winds started blowing…

Game #3

Hackers vs Slayers

Well this was a rematch of the 2025B finals…and…just like the finals, the Hackers took control and smothered the Slayers. First period was 2-2. Second had the Hacks grabbing 4 while the Slayers nocked off 3. We had a one goal game after the second with the Hackers up 6-5. 

The third saw the Hackers grab 3 goals and they pulled away. So…after it was all said and done. hacks win 9-6

This weeks HFHL player of the Week honours goes to Nick Dempsey who had 3 goals and 3 assists. After the game he left the gym saying “Brett who?” 

Ok, now to the nitty gritty. 

First of all it is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell for the time being to all-star D man Tyler Winsor. Tyler has been a real blessing to the league and will be missed. He is moving on to bigger and better things…and no it’s not Rickie’s team

In hi place we welcome Alex Yeadon back, who played a while ago. Thanks for jumping in Alex!

So, remember when I said those trade winds were ramping up? Well…things heated up this afternoon between the Slayers and the Chill. After some tough negotiations, the Chill agree to send TJ Norris, Tommie Winsor and goalie Zach Payne to the Slayers for Justin Logan, Jordan Castilloux and Adam Larder. 

We wish all players involved all the best in their new homes.

So that’s it folks. A break up, a shake up and Liam McLeod had a couple of points…legit!
